A | B Testing Checklist

Updated: 5 days ago

A | B Testing is when you experiment and "split" your audience to test variations of a campaign to determine which performs better. It's extremely beneficial and can be used for testing your email list, email subject lines, landing pages, CTAs, forms...and more.

A few things to consider...

Before the A | B Test:

  • Pick one variable to test.

  • Choose your goal.

  • Set up your "control" and your "challenger."

  • Split your sample groups equally and randomly.

  • Determine your sample size (if applicable).

  • Decide how significant your results need to be.

  • Make sure that you're only running one test at a time on any campaign.

During the A | B Test:

  • Test both variations simultaneously.

  • Run the test long enough to get substantial results.

  • Ask for feedback from real users.

After the A | B Test:

  • Focus on your goal metric.

  • Measure the significance of your results using our A/B testing calculator.

  • Take action based on your results.

  • Plan your next test.
